Loyola Soccer, the recently crowned Mission League champions, will begin its 2022 CIF Postseason journey on Friday afternoon (Feb. 11) at home against a familiar playoff foe in the Santa Barbara HS Dons at 5PM.

LAST TIME OUT: The two programs will meet in the playoffs for the second straight year. Back on May 15th, 2021, the No. 3-seeded Cubs traveled to Santa Barbara for their CIF Second Round matchup and came away with the 2-1 victory. Then-senior Nate Smith-Hastie ’21 was the hero in that game, scoring a pair of goals in the 39’ and 78’ to send the Cubs to the CIF quarterfinals.

2022 CIF PLAYOFFS: A win over the Dons would push Loyola into the second round against the winner of JSerra and Valencia (Placentia). The Cubs will play on the road for Round 2 on Tuesday (Feb. 15) should they advance.
