The cubs got off to a slow start at the beginning of the first half and Santa Ana set the tone on attack. The first ten minutes of the first half were characterized by back and forth attacks from both teams. A Solid strike from Eric Areola on a free kick in the seventeenth minute gets past the Santa Ana keeper making the score 1-0 Loyola. The cubs start the second half with the momentum in their favor and a 1-0 lead. Santa Ana strikes back scoring in the early second half to make the score 1-1. Soon after Santa Ana scores again making the score 1-2 Santa Ana . Both teams put together good attacks but neither team scores for the bulk of the second half. Santa Ana is hit by a flurry of yellow cards in the late second half as Loyola tries to even the score. Loyola fought hard to tie the game but the game ends 1-2 for a Santa Ana victory.
