A trio of Loyola Volleyball players—senior setter/opposite hitter Will Campbell ’19, junior outside hitter Luke Turner ’20 and junior setter Henry Wedbush ’20—were named to the 2019 All-CIF Southern Section Division I Boys Volleyball team, announced by the CIF-SS Coaches’ Association and presented by the LA84 Foundation on Thursday (June 6).
As a school, Loyola tied for the most representatives on the 13-man All-CIF list with three players earning the accolade. Furthermore, juniors Turner and Wedbush were two of only four non-seniors to be named to the All-CIF team. Earlier in the year, Wedbush and Campbell were named Co-MVPs of the Mission League after guiding the Cubs to another undefeated league slate and the 2019 Mission League championship.
Campbell, Turner and Wedbush started all season long for 21st-year head coach Michael Boehle ’84, helping the Cubs to a No. 5 final ranking in Division I. Loyola finished the year with a 22-6 record overall with appearances in the CIF-SS Division I Semifinals and the CIF State Regional Semifinals.
