Loyola’s Varsity Water Polo team is semifinals bound!
Head coach Erik Healy and the top-seeded Cubs will head down to Woollett Aquatic Center in Irvine on Wednesday (Nov. 10) for a 6:30PM matchup with Long Beach Wilson. The winner of that semifinal will advance to Saturday’s CIF-SS Division I title match.
The Cubs are coming off a thrilling quarterfinal victory last Saturday (Nov. 6) against host Santa Margarita in which junior attacker Will Sanchez rattled off four goals and the defense withstood a late Eagle rally in the fourth period to secure the 9-8 victory. Loyola also handled Riverside Poly, 19-2, in the first round of playoffs.
