Loyola Cross Country had a great showing at the Cerritos Great Cow Invitational held at Cerritos Park over the weekend (Aug. 31), with the Varsity, JV and Sophomore squads taking first place and the Frosh team finishing in third overall.
The Varsity team finished atop the leaderboard with 32 points, led by senior Anthony Stone ’20 who finished first with a time of 15:02, followed by Zach Zambrano ’21 (15:17) in 4th and Arjun Vadgama ’21 (15:27) in 11th place.
JV also took first with 35 points, with a 2nd place finish from Josh Weiss ’20 (16:32), a 6th from Donny McAlister ’21 (16:56) and a 7th from Daniel Alvarez ’20 (16:59).
Loyola’s sophomore runners finished first as a team, led by Dane Utley ’22 in 6th (16:12), Jake Walter ’22 in 9th (16:39) and Dylan Bissell ’22 in 10th (16:40). The newest batch of Loyola runners finished in third place as a team, led by freshman Jake Ratkovich ’23 in 8th place with a time of 16:58.
