Swimming World Magazine released its final school rankings for the 2022-23 school year, and Loyola High School claimed the No. 1 spot as the Top Independent School in the country and finished as the No. 3 overall HS swimming program in the nation.

Loyola alum and now Stanford freshman Rex Maurer ’23, who was named Loyola’s Athlete and Scholar-Athlete of the Year in May, was tabbed as one of the Top 5 HS Swimmers of the Year by the publication after finishing first among high schoolers in the 500 Free event rankings and 3rd in the 200 Free. Maurer also set the overall national HS record in the 500 Free with his time of 4:12.70. He was also part of Swimming World’s Top 10 Recruits list.
