The Loyola Cubs come in ranked No. 2 overall in the inaugural CIF-SS Preseason Boys Lacrosse poll, as selected by the CIF-SS Lacrosse Advisory Committee and announced on Monday (Feb. 10). The 2020 season will be the first in which Boys Lacrosse is recognized as a CIF Southern Section sport.
New Loyola head coach Jimmy Borell will be guiding the Cubs through one of the toughest schedules in all of California, starting with a trip down to Tustin to face off against No. 3 Foothill in the season opener. Five of the Top-7 ranked teams currently in the Division I poll appear on the 2020 schedule, with other California powerhouses like St. Ignatius Prep (San Francisco) and Torrey Pines (San Diego) also in line this spring. The Cubs take on Foothill on Saturday (Feb. 22nd) at 7 p.m.
