The Cubs went down to Orange County on Tuesday (May 11) and made a big splash, defeating a quality Santa Margarita program by a meet score of 100-70.
Sophomore standout Rex Maurer led the way, setting school-record times with a pair of wins in the 200 (1:37.09) and 500 (4:24.56) freestyles. He was also the lead off in the 400 free relay with a lifetime-best 44.86. He split a 20.25 anchor leg for the Cubs' 200 free relay alongside Taz Kanjanakaset, William Kim and Zachary Larrick (1:22.77).
With the win, Loyola improves to 5-0 in 2021 and will now look ahead to Mission League Prelims and Finals on May 17-18.
