JV Basketball ended the year on a high note, taking home the Los Alamitos Tournament title after an 86-55 victory over Long Beach Poly in the finals on Saturday (Dec. 29).

Eleven different Cubs scored in the game, led by tournament MVP and sophomore center Nick Green '21. Green once again stuffed the stat sheet, finishing with eight points, seven boards, six assists, three blocks and two steals. Fellow sophomore forward Nico Stanley '21 earned All-Tournament honors after a 12-point outing in the final. In addition, sophomore guard Dylan Tracy-Lindenbaum '21 and freshman Jeric Calleja '22 contributed 16 points apiece. 

Loyola is now 17-1 on the season, winning eight consecutive games and nine of its last 10. Up next for the Cubs is Mission League play, beginning with a home game against Alemany on Friday (Jan. 4) at 5:30 p.m. at Leavey Gymnasium.
