Earlier this month, Loyola Varsity Soccer player Grayson Doody ’20 was named to the 2019 Allstate All-American team. The junior midfielder was one of 100 high school soccer players across the country to be recognized in the spring for significant on-field achievements as part of Allstate’s ongoing commitment to the soccer community. These players join the 150 student-athletes previously named to the list after the fall season.

In collaboration with MaxPreps, Allstate identified the top high school juniors and rising soccer stars in the country, awarding 250 players with Allstate All-American honors. From that group, 80 of them (40 boys, 40 girls) will be selected to compete in the inaugural 2019 Allstate All-America Cup on July 31st at 2019 MLS All-Star Orlando. Four U.S. soccer legends will serve as coaches, with former MLS and USMNT members Brian McBride and Taylor Twellman coaching the boys’ game and Olympic gold medalists Brandi Chastain and Julie Foudy coaching the girls’ game. The event in Orlando, Fla., will be televised on ESPNU. The 80 All-Americans who participate in the Allstate Cup will also be honored on the field during halftime of the 2019 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target.
During the 2018-19 season, Doody started every game for the nationally-ranked Cubs, finishing second on the team in assists (12), goals (5) and total points (22). His efforts earned him All-Mission League First Team honors.
