Loyola Lacrosse has an early season Top 5 matchup on deck this weekend as the No. 5-ranked Cubs host No. 3 Mater Dei at Smith Field on Feb. 25th. Saturday will also mark the season opener for Loyola's JV team at 5PM, followed by the Varsity game at 7PM.

TICKETS: Admission is free at Smith Field.
PARKING: Parking is available in the Dewey Lot (1499 Dewey Avenue, Los Angeles, CA). Loyola Security will direct any overflow to adjacent and secure parking lots surrounding campus. Handicap parking is available (please inform Security upon arrival).
ENTRANCE: Seating is at a first come, first served basis on Smith Field. Spectators are allowed to bring stadium chairs and bleacher support seats, as well as umbrellas for afternoon games.
*Note that due to the scheduled rain, fans are advised to bring umbrellas/warm clothing!

PREVIEW: Varsity is coming off a solid season opener last Friday against perennial Arizona power Brophy Prep of Phoenix, winning the contest 10-8 at Smith Field. The Cubs, ranked No. 5 in the first CIF-SS Division I Lacrosse poll of the season, now play host to No. 3 Mater Dei on Saturday.
UPCOMING: Loyola will also host No. 6 Agoura on Tuesday (Feb. 28) at 7PM, with the Frosh/Soph team also facing the Chargers at 5PM.
PROGRAM: Loyola made history as the first-ever CIF-SS Division I Boys Lacrosse champions in 2021 when lacrosse became an official CIF-sanctioned sport. Last season, Loyola made it to the quarterfinal round of the playoffs before bowing out to eventual champion Corona del Mar and finishing the season 15-7 overall and as undefeated Mission League champions.
This year, the Cubs will be led by a quintet of captains: seniors Trent Turner '23, Luc Dumont '23, Santi Goldthwait '23, and juniors Luke Stickler '24 and Ben Horowitz '24. Borell enters his 4th season at the helm of the Loyola Lacrosse program.
