Loyola has partnered up with the NFHS Network to provide a livestream for every home game played at Leavey Gymnasium. A subscription is required to view games on the NFHS Network. Options for Loyola fans include a Monthly Pass ($11.99/month) or an Annual Pass ($79.99). *Note that all regular season home games for Loyola Basketball are played in the month of January.
An Annual Pass covers all seasons of athletic competition (for all three levels) hosted on Loyola’s Smith Field, Leavey Gymnasium, and Hernandez Field: fall (football), winter (basketball, soccer), spring (lacrosse, baseball, volleyball). Past games can be re-watched via the On Demand/Archived feature. Away games at schools that are partnered with NFHS can also be viewed on demand.
PREVIEW: After spending the first two months of the season playing games and tournaments away from home, all three Cub teams finally get to compete inside the friendly confines of Leavey Gym.
Varsity is coming off a championship at the Orange Holiday Classic down in Orange County, winning four consecutive games and earning the tourney title with a 52-45 victory against Valley Christian on Dec. 29th. They do face a tough test to open up Mission League play with CIF Open Division contender Notre Dame coming to town for the opener at 7PM.
JV, with multiple players from last year’s Mission League championship-winning Freshman team, will look to compete for another title this season in the challenging conference while players return from sickness/injury.
Frosh is hot off their third-straight tournament championship, claiming the Artesia Winter Classic this past week in Lakewood. The freshmen played with their full roster for just the first time all season on Dec. 28th and shut down rival Mira Costa in a rematch for the championship.
Though Loyola students are still on Winter Break, expect all three teams to come out with high energy and defensive intensity in their first home games of the season.
HOME SCHEDULE: Only four home games are on the schedule, three of which are league contests. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to watch the Cubs live: vs Notre Dame (Fri, Jan. 6), vs Harvard-Westlake (Fri, Jan. 13), vs Crespi (Fri, Jan. 20) and vs Calabasas (Sat, Jan. 21). All Friday games are set for 4PM/5:30PM/7PM, while the lone Saturday is scheduled for 11AM/12:30PM/2PM. Those four games will be triple-headers as fans can stay to watch Frosh, JV, and Varsity compete back-to-back-to-back.
UP NEXT: It's a quick turnaround for the Cubs as all three levels travel to Valley Christian (Cerritos) the next day (Sat, Jan. 7) for another triple-header: Frosh at 12PM, JV at 1:30PM, and Varsity at 3PM. The following week has Loyola on the road at Sierra Canyon on Wednesday (Jan. 11) and back at home vs Harvard-Westlake on Friday (Jan. 13).
