PREVIEW: All three levels of Loyola Basketball have won against their last three opponents (at Alemany, vs Crespi, vs Calabasas), going a perfect 9-0 in a span of just 4 days last week. Varsity is coming off a big-time comeback victory on Senior Night last Friday against Crespi and is currently battling St. Francis for 4th place in the highly-competitive Mission League behind CIF Open Division contenders Harvard-Westlake, Sierra Canyon, and Notre Dame. If the Cubs can finish in the Top 4 in the Mission League, they will guarantee themselves a spot in next month’s CIF-SS Division I Playoffs. Expect a big crowd on Wednesday with the large Loyola/Pasadena-area contingent ready to cheer on the Cubs.
JV is coming off a thrilling 56-55 win over Calabasas at home on Saturday after cruising past Crespi on Friday, 67-43. The Frosh take their perfect 5-0 league record into their battle with the Golden Knights on Monday after an all-around team effort in their 42-point victory over Crespi, 80-38.
UP NEXT: One regular season game remains on the schedule: at Chaminade on Friday (Jan. 27). The tripleheader is set for 4PM/5:30PM/7PM and the purchase of one ticket guarantees admission to all three games. Ticket links and more info will be released mid-week.
