PREVIEW: After injuries slowed the Cubs to a 1-4 start to the season, Loyola has reeled off three consecutive wins against league opponents by a combined score of 104-26: W at St. Paul (24-14), W vs Crespi (49-0), W at Paraclete (31-12). The final two games of the regular season are against the top of the table in the Angelus League–against Cathedral (2-1) and against St. Francis (3-0). Both of those contests will be held at Smith Field.
Last year, Loyola defeated Cathedral at home by a score of 34-6. In 2022, Cathedral is currently 2-1 in league and 6-2 overall. With a win on Friday night, the Cubs will guarantee at least a Top 2 finish in league and secure a postseason berth in next month’s CIF-SS Playoffs, while also staying in the hunt for a third-straight Angelus League championship.
HOME SCHEDULE: The final two Fridays in October mark the end of the regular season for Loyola Football, so make sure to purchase your tickets for home games against Cathedral (10/21) and St. Francis (10/28 - Senior Night): https://gofan.co/app/school/CA18910
