Now winners of five straight, Loyola Varsity Football will make the long trek down to Orange County on Friday night (Oct. 1) for a 7:00 PM date with host San Clemente. It will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools in football, with the Cubs (5-1) looking to spoil the Tritons’ Homecoming game at Thalassa Stadium.
Loyola is coming off of a hard-fought 34-31 victory on the road at Manhattan Beach rival Mira Costa last Friday, earning South Bay bragging rights and their second road win of the season. This Friday’s matchup at San Clemente will be the final non-conference game for the Cubs, who open up Angelus League play two weeks from now on Oct. 15th at Crespi after a bye week next week (Oct. 8th).
