The Cubs concluded their final home game of the Mission League with a 12-0 win against Alemany.
The goals started coming early with a hat trick by junior Nate Smith-Hastie, and a left post goal from Jake Rodgers (4-0). Towards the end of the first half Ben Bolte met the Alemany keeper one-on-one. Staying onside and maintaining pace from a good run, Bolte beats the Alemany defenders, fakes out the goalie and taps it in making it 5-0. Soon after, junior Malcom Hawkins sprints with the ball upfield to find Finn West. West dribbles it in the Alemany box and scores ending the half 6-0.
The Cubs went on to double their score during the second half, shutting Alemany out 12-0.
On Wednesday night the Cubs will play their final league game at Notre Dame. Their impressive league run will award them as Mission League Champions, but with CIF playoffs just around the corner, the Cubs wait to face the best of the best.
