EARL ENGMAN RELAYS - Loyola Track & Field will be competing in the 30th annual Earl Engman Relays at Portola High School on Saturday, March 1 at 9am. This invitational is one of the oldest high school track meets in California, dating back to the 1920's. With 27 schools entered, this promises to be one of the largest meets in recent years. We're looking forward to having our team participate in this longstanding tradition! See meet details below along with the Los Alamitos Griffin Invitational for select distance runners also taking place on Saturday.
SPECTATOR FEES:
- Adults - $10
- Students w/ Student ID - $5
- Children under 12yrs - Free
DIVISIONS:
The meet will be divided into 3 divisions based on the boys' and girls' enrollment for the top 3 grades and competitiveness of divisions
ORDER OF RUNNING EVENTS:
The order will be: Division III---Division II--- Division I
NOTE: The girls distance medley is the first event at 9:00 am with the shuttle hurdles at approximately 10:00 am. Last year the meet concluded at about 4:30 PM.

ORDER OF FIELD EVENTS:
The order will be: Division III---Division II--- Division I
- Boys and Girls Long Jump Relay (3 competitors per school 3 ATTEMPTS)
- Boys and Girls High Jump Relay (3 competitors per school 3 ATTEMPTS)
- Boys and Girls Shot Put Relay (3 competitors per school 3 ATTEMPTS)
- Boys and Girls Discus Relay (3 competitors per school 3 ATTEMPTS)
- Invitational Girls & Boys Pole Vault (1 competitor per school)
- Invitational Girls & Boys Triple Jump (1 competitor per school)
AWARDS:
Medals will be awarded to the top 4 teams in each race. Team trophies will be awarded to the winner and runner up in each division. A sweepstakes award will be given to the team with the highest combined boy and girl score. Medals will be distributed at the end of the meet to the coaches. B teams will receive no medals or scoring.
CONCESSIONS / T-SHIRTS / PROGRAMS:
There will be a full concession stand in operation for the Relays. $15 T - shirts will also be on sale near the concession stand. Programs will be on sale for the spectators at the entrance of the stadium. It will include an order of events, the schools participating and the relay records.
LOS ALAMITOS GRIFFIN INVITATIONAL AND RELAYS - Select distance runners will also be competing at Los Alamitos on Saturday, March 1.
