Loyola’s Freshman Football team, comprised of 85 members from the Class of 2023, finished their first season in the Blue and White with a 4-6 overall record.
The school’s newest Cubs picked up their first-ever win on September 5th against St. Augustine by a score of 41-7 at Smith Field. Back-to-back home victories were then recorded against Valencia (Sept. 19) and Vista Murrieta (Sept. 26). Loyola defeated the Vikings, 34-20, and followed with a gritty 26-21 win over the Broncos at Smith Field. Their final win of the season came against Mission League foe Notre Dame in Sherman Oaks back on October 18th by a 21-6 margin. The dominant defensive display was the first road victory for the freshmen.
The 2019 Frosh team was led by head coach Levi Line, with a number of Cub alumni joining him on the staff.
